MultiMatt Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I have a domain that was migrated over from Google domains last year. Up to now, I didn't need to do anything with it, as the migration went without a hitch. The domain had been set up to forward to my wife's main website (managed over at sites.google.com). To-date, the domain forwards as desired. 👍 My wife's attorney recently advised her to not be using this domain name anymore (long story), so she wants me to "Turn it off" (her terminology). Today, I tried to do that, but I am confused. In the Domain Management area, under Website, the Domain Forwarding section says there is no forwarding set up (see screenshot). As I mentioned, the domain name is forwarding to my wife's site presently. 🤔 Seeking guidance on this. Ultimately, she wants to sell off the domain, but for right now, I need the domain to be "inactive". Thanks! Matt
paul2009 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Hi @MultiMatt If the domain is connected to a website, you should be able to disconnect it by removing the DNS records. Note that it will take some time (~72-96 hours) for this to take effect. If you need more help specific help, please post back with the domain name. Did this help? MultiMatt Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 Thanks for the quick response @paul2009 ! I follow what you are saying (been a while since I have messed with any of this kind of stuff), so to confirm, I would just delete every one of these? The domain name is IamMarilynMonroe.com, FYI
paul2009 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 1 hour ago, MultiMatt said: I would just delete every one of these? Correct. If you don't want to use the domain for any purpose including email, you would delete them all. (I always advise keeping screenshot of the previous settings, just in case 🙂).
