Rammy Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Are the background videos working for anyone using Firefox on this test site? https://guppy-llama-75gt.squarespace.com/ The password is "test". Background videos haven't been loading for me using Firefox for a while now. Doesn't appear to be my privacy/security settings. They appear to be working using Safari, although not all the time. They are working fine using Chrome.

I contacted Squarespace Support and they reported the issue to their Engineering and Design teams. They suggested to upload the video file to Squarespace directly. Unfortunately this makes the video quality much worse because they reencode the video file... let's hope their engineers can figure it out quickly. This was their e-mail response after the support chat. Quote We noted your report about background videos not loading on Firefox, with our Engineering and Design teams for review. They’ll use this feedback when creating fixes and improvements for future releases. There are many variables that we need to test against before we can make changes, and we can’t guarantee changes for this issue in the immediate future. That said, our teams consider all feedback, and your input is always encouraged. For now, try to upload the background video file to Squarespace directly. Natively hosted backgrounds seem to work, without any issues. To be clear, this is a temporary workaround, rather than a permanent fix for the issue. Thanks again for reporting this, and if you see any other unusual behavior, please let us know.
