Bknuts Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Hi. I want to add a language to my page, I don't want to use Weglot. So I wanted to duplicate pages, and have a first page with the language choices. Like in this video: How can I do this when there is no folder option? How will I be able to have two menus in two languages? Any help is really appreciated. Bjørnar
Bknuts Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 Hello! A member of our team will respond as soon as possible. Please briefly describe what you need help with. Site URL (success) Issue Description (success) View Queue Status Kyle M. Hey Bjornar, Thank you for reaching out. To confirm, you are looking to duplicate pages. So as you can manually translate them. Is this correct? Yes. And I watched one of your videos on how to do this. But it seems you have removed the folders option. Hello? Kyle M. I have made a short video from your site to highlight the steps: https://share.squarespace.com/P8uONRpW We have more on this here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543627-Duplicating-pages-and-content#toc-duplicate-a-layout-page Keep in mind, folders will have to be manually added, As it's not possible to duplicate folders. I didn't need help to duplicate a page. My problem is, how can I get two menus. One in Norwegian and one in English when I don't have any folders? Kyle M. You can use the Dropdown feature to create drop-down navigation menus (also known as nested pages or sub-menus) on your site. For more details on adding dropdowns to your navigation, visit our guide: http://support.squarespace.com/hc/articles/205813818 Note that it's not possible to nest dropdown menus inside another dropdown. But I don't want a dropdown. I just want to pages, and two menus. Two languages. Kyle M. For that, the only option is to use WeGlot. But if you want, you can add text links to your home page that link to other content on the site. Let me know if you would like me to expand on this. So you did sell your soul to Weglot and made it impossible. Did they pay you well? 😄 Text links? In the header?? Kyle M. WeGlot specialises in translation sites. This is why this integration is in place. You can add links in the header as well. I have made a short video to highlight the steps: https://share.squarespace.com/yAueAv4Z Yes but there are no options. I can't have a first page with language selection. And they are a pay by month service. Not what people want. Kyle M. So far, I could notseeing any other option for that language set up. Having said that, I'm going to take more time to investigate and give this 100% of my focus. Is it ok if I get back to you via email? This will also allow me some time to consult with colleagues. Let me know if you'd like me to include anything else in the follow up email. That seems like a good plan. In the meantime I would highly recommend removing this video so you don't piss more people off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6EZKR2BpY4&t=5s But my goal is to make it like in the video tho 🙂 Any idea how long it will take for you to get back to me? Kyle M. Sorry to hear about the troubles. I'll look into this further and make sure I am not missing anything. I'll be back with an email update before end of day today (GMT). 'Awesome thx Kyle!!! 🙂
