Aramazt Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Site URL: http://www.advancemedical.group website password: advancemed Forgive the rant below, TLDR. I'm simply looking for a way to remove a greyed background on transparent PNGs in the slideshow on our site. Thanks for your time and consideration. There seems to be the constant struggle between making sites seamlessly adjustable for mobile and web, making it easier for users of SP to design their websites. However the simplest of all necessities are totally overlooked. A vertical line, for example, must be the easiest of items include but is lacking. Is there a way to have a better UI in Squarespace. Wix is leaps and bounds beyond what you guys are doing and for years. I personally want to support local companies (NYC) and wish we had better options to boast about. Thanks again. Aramazt
Spark-Plugin Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Hi @Aramazt, did you figure it out yet? - Answered by Iuno from sparkplugin.com
Aramazt Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 No, to be honest. I've either found code that doesn't work when I change it, or I've found features (like deselect "Overlay" button) that don't show up in Squarespace. I'm really interested to know more.
creedon Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Add the following to Website > Pages > Website Tools > Custom CSS. .sqs-gallery-block-slideshow { background-color : unset; } The Gallery block is a bit of an odd one because SS originally dropped the GB for v7.1. Only after much complaining they brought it back but stated they weren't updating it for v7.1. Let us know how it goes. Aramazt and Spark-Plugin 1 1 Find my contributions useful? creedon Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Quote Curious as to how you knew to do that? I used Chrome DevTools to examine the HTML and CSS to hunt down where the background color was coming from. And of course I have learned HTML and CSS over the years since the web was created. Find my contributions useful? Please like, upvote, mark my answer as the best ( solution ), and see my profile. Aramazt Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 I tried my best by using the Chrome Squarespace ID function to identify the slideshow and set the overlay function to none, but alas to no avail. Thank you for your help!
