Assets does not appear on the list of items on the left-hand side navigation pane

The "Assets" menu item does not show under Website on the left hand side menu - only Pages and Styles appear. 

The problem is on my computer on both Chrome and Edge. I am on a Dell Surface with Windows 10 Pro. I have cleared browser cache, rebooted, disabled touch screen, checked javascript and cookies, and gone through various other steps as suggested by SquareSpace. Any ideas on how I can fix it?

The problem does not occur on a friend's computer. The SquareSpace customer support person also did not have a problem so I am thinking there is some setting on my computer...

Which permissions do you have? Admin, Content Editor, Billing...

Thank you for responding. I am the creator of the website so I should have all the privileges. 

I got a response from customer support: I’m seeing the issue because I’m using a touchscreen 2 in 1 device. Even if the touchscreen is disabled it will not allow the Asset library to be a function. They also said that there are other functions that won’t work as well. Didn’t list these though.

Hello,

I asked Support for more information. They said that some touchscreen devices act more like mobile devices and hence access the mobile site. Many  things are not available on the mobile site, including certain blocks, analytics, email campaigns, asset library, etc. 

Based on this I’m not sure that is the correct explanation for my problem. Even though I’m on a Surface, I’m running a desktop OS ( Windows 10 Pro) and desktop versions of the browser, whether Chrome or Edge. I don’t believe I’m accessing the mobile site.
