How to make a specific section have a gradient/transparent background with sticky scroll

I am trying to get a specific section of my page to have a semi transparent black to fully transparent background so you can see the section above on the scroll like:

I can make a transparent gradient, I can make sticky section scroll. But I can't seem to do both at once.
