PNG images are occasionally apearing with white background... any ideas

I've created a pretty image heavy website with illustrated characters layered over each other with some parallax effects on them. Sometimes when I load the page in, it is fine, and sometime one or more of the images appear with a white background rather than transparent. Any ideas? All images have been compressed - is it just my internet connection or a wider issue? I don't want to revert to static images if I can help it. Any ideas? If I go into the editor the white squares usually disappear... I haven't seen anyone else with this issue...

I don't see an issue with the images themselves.

I'm thinking that the issue is the parallax effect itself and the canvas element. I know of no way to fix canvas elements that have gone wrong. SS would have to do this.

Given this appears to be holiday related you may have to go with an alternative plan as SS is not generally known for its speed in addressing issues.
