Can't zoom into gallery images ... is there a workaround? Or do I need to include them all as individual image blocks and manually size?

Hi. I have an artist site. The gallery block is great for easily layout out the images, but when I go to share them with folks (especially on mobile), once you click on an image, it opens in a lightbox (good), but then you can't zoom into it to see the details.

Is there any way to allow the viewer to zoom into the image?

Thank you.

If you have a budget, consider my plugin Lightbox Studio which allow to zoom and provide other features to your gallery lightbox

Kindly use this playground URL to test against the plugin's feature

Also your images size is kinda small, width around 500px - 600px, I suggest you upload bigger images (as Squarespace allow up to 2500px wide) for the best zoom quality. In case you need bigger zoom image, try this tutorial

Thank you @Beyondspace. Very interesting tool. I appreciate your comment that to zoom, I should make my images 2500 pixels wide. Does that count for the height as well?

I'm also concerned it allows people to download a higher resolution version of my images and steal them. Is there a way to prevent people from downloading them?

Thank you so much.

2500px is the maximum width allow, height does not matter as long as you keep the resolution width x height within 120MP (which is very big though)

You can add a watermark to the image? The plugin was built with a Download feature, so you can turn this off. To be honest, a watermark would be better because people can steal your artwork regardless any download block applied

thank you beyoundspace for jumping into the post. Unfortunately I will not be spending any more money on my website at this time. So I guess it is as it appears. One can not enlarge the image once it is clicked on and becomes a light box image
