lostbuthappy Posted October 4 Posted October 4 What are the steps to redirect a non-squarespace site to a Squarespace web site? tia
derricksrandomviews Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Are you using the same domain for the Squarespace site as the non-Squarespace site? If so what is it? You would need to change the DNS records for the domain to point from one site to the other. I should be able to help you with that. UtpalShuvro 1

This is usually achieved by "Connecting" the non-Squarespace domain to the Squarespace website. You can connect the non-Squarespace domain by logging on to your domain provider's admin site, removing old DNS records and and setting the correct DNS records. This guide explains further: Connecting a third-party domain to your Squarespace site. When you've connected the domain, do not make it the primary domain. This will ensure that when visitors use this domain, they will be redirected to the Squarespace domain. Did this help? UtpalShuvro Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Hi @lostbuthappy, You could redirect the old domain to new domain from the domain providers dashboard. Where may have an option like redirect domain[based on domain providers]. For example - Namecheap dashboard they have options like this: As an SEO expert I suggest you to redirect old domain URLs to new domain URL, by relevancy. You can redirect urls or categories by relevancy from the admin panel of that website. Which could help your old domains traffic to land relevant pages of new domain pages. Which may time consuming but it could provide you huge advantages in a sense of ranking and website traffic. If my comments are useful, please like and mark my solution as answer. UtpalShuvro Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Hi @lostbuthappy, I found otmstrength.com website still have a decent amount of organic traffic. Here is the domain analysis report that I found: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EPOjsTcADHlmjQJiB1-QmreN8RbMRRCo/view?usp=sharing And I visited also 100yearathlete.com website. It seems both website is serving same interest. So, it'll be better if you redirect otmstrength.com website urls one by one to 100yearathlete.com website by relevancy. Which will help you to transfer your old websites existing ranking score, backlinks and organic traffics that will also boost your new websites ranking and organic traffic. derricksrandomviews 1 If my comments are useful, please like and mark my solution as answer.
