Issues with Fluid Engine 7.1

Hi all,

I am working on a website for my boss as a side project, he wants to create a site for his marine services company. I duplicated our old site for our main company and have begun making changes but unfortunately, I don't see any prompt to upgrade the website to fluid editor. Upon checking in the dashboard, it says its built on 7.1 so this should be an option, but I have had no success in making this shift.

This extra site is paid until May 2025 so I would prefer to keep it operational if possible.

URL: https://egm-test-site.squarespace.com/

Thank you!
Riley

Hello Riley,

It looks like you're on Squarespace 7.1, which should support the fluid editor. Try checking the Design > Site Styles for any toggle options related to layout adjustments. If you need assistance with the upgrade or other issues, then text me up!

Sent you a message.

As you explained, this is a Squarespace 7.1 website so Fluid Engine is already built-in.

When you add a new Page Section you should be choose between Classic and Fluid Engine sections. If you want to use Fluid Engine on an existing page section, you should be able to click the UPGRADE button to upgrade that section from Classic to Fluid Engine.

Please note that it isn't possible to convert a Page Section back to Classic after upgrading it and saving the page. If you're not sure you want to use Fluid Engine with a section, it's better to duplicate the section before upgrading - just in case!

Thank you for your response! I have experience with 7.1 Fluid engine and I don't see the upgrade section anywhere on the page. I would be happy to include you as a contributor on the site so you can see exactly the issues I'm facing.

I checked and the Fluid Engine (FE) opt-out was enabled. I've disabled this for you now so you should be able to convert sections to FE 🙂.

Where are you able to find the FE opt-out options? I'm experiencing the same issue with FE not displaying on new (7.1) pages or giving the upgrade prompt.
