JenJ70
I have an existing gallery/portfolio that has collections of paintings I want to make available for purchase directly on my site. Right now, people need to contact me to purchase. I want to make it so they can buy straightaway. Is there a way to allow people to purchase directly from the existing gallery? And if not, does that mean I need to create a new "store" area for all of my paintings and then delete the gallery area? Which essentially means redoing my site? The gallery is already formatted in the exact way I want the work displayed not to mention the work in redoing the site. Is there any way to have a purchase button for each painting and then have that go for purchase? Or something like that? Thanks. Link to comment
JenJ70
This is awesome news! Yay! Asking for help for sure. Can you point me to instructions for this kind of set up. And then I'll need a cart of some sort so I need to know how to add a cart too. Thank you! Edited October 2 by JenJ70 Link to comment
JenJ70
Can't you send me a link to the instructions on squarespace somewhere? Or are you looking for business? Link to comment

Hi @JenJ70 👋 There are two ways to achieve this, depending on how your "gallery/portfolio" has been built. Either way, you will need to add a Store page to the website and then create a "Product" for each painting in that store. You can reuse the images you've already added as these will already be in your website Asset Library. You can add the titles, prices and shipping info to each one. For more details, see Adding products to your store. If you share a link to your site, this will help us to answer any further questions that you have. Did this help? JenJ70
I am late to seeing your reply, Paul, and thank you. My website is jjartstudios.com and it's very, very simple right now. I has no idea what I was doing when I created it several years ago, and I still don't really. But I want people to be able to buy directly from the site rather than contacting me first. However, I set up my site as a portfolio site with gallery pages, and it seems that means I have to more or less start over and create a product page for each painting within a store (that will look like a gallery but have commerce function). That seems terribly inefficient and I was hoping it avoid doing all of that but if that's what needs to happen, then it is what it is. Appreciate any additional insight you may have. I'll try and keep a better eye out for your response. Many thanks. Link to comment

Yes, that's what you need to do. There isn't a way to convert a gallery into a store. Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017.
