Need Help - cloned a live site, and accidentially overwrote it,

I am hearing there is no version Control is this true?
I cloned a client's site that I manage in my dashboard to use as a template for another client's site.
I accidentally wrote over the original!
The good news is that I have a back up/cloned copy of the original, but how can i get it to the original account with the domain attached to it?
So dumb please help
PS. I cloned the new site that overwrote the original so I have it and no worries about losing the new content.
