I've updated my favicon as well as my social image to "FGA" logo, which works on tabs, but all that appears next to my site's name on Google search is the generic grey globe icon. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi @fundaciongonzaloaponte Here are the steps you can follow to make sure your favicon is showing up in Google Search Results:

  1. In Squarespace, set your Favicon to your desired logo
  2. Resubmit your sitemap to Google Search Console
  3. Wait for Google to crawl and update the change

It sounds like you've already done step 1. If you have also done step 2, then there is nothing more you can do but wait. Google will update it when it has done its thing, patience is the key.

There are a few things that affect how quickly Google reflects the favicon change:

  • If the favicon was set before going live, this seems to be the quickest, usually less than a few days
  • If the favicon was set/changed after going live, this can take a week or two

In short, this is in the hands of Google. Let me know how it goes.
