Can I get the total price from a booking of multiple consecutive appointments?

I'm using Acuity to book rentals in half-hour increments, with clients using the add-time function to make the booking as long as they need it to be (could be half an hour, could be eight hours) It works well on the client end, but I'm having two problems: generating a total cost per booking, and generation a confirmation set up that only sends one confirmation email per booking.

When I use the %price% field, it gives me the price of a single half-hour appointment regardless of how many consecutive half-hour appointments the client selected in the booking. How can I get the total owing?

Second problem, I'm using the recommended set up for manually confirming appointments (there's an request appointment type which sends one confirmation, then I go in an approve by changing it to a confirmed appointment type, which then sends another confirmation email) But I have to change each half-hour appointment to the confirmed type, which means multiple confirmation emails each with the price of one half-hour appointment. Is there a way to send one confirmation per confirmed booking?
