what has happened to lists - from compact to expanded

What has happened to the list functionality on Flores - whenever i use a list feature it expands insead of the original compact size  - also lots of design functionalisty has disappeard from the menu - so annoying - anyone any thougths

this is the current expanded example (below) verses the original layout - there is no tweaks available to decrease the size and the list is now unusable as a feature
