Replacing old site with new (duplicated) site at same domain

Hi All -
With Squarespace tech support being non-existent, i was hoping someone could help me out. I recently designed a new site for a client by duplicating his old site and modifying the layout. My client has paid for a new subscription for the site, and i have connected his existing domain to the new site. It tells me i successfully connected it. (See screenshot) Problem is, it is still showing the old site is published live.

The site was supposed to go live over a week ago and my client is freaking out. If you can help a brother out, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I've attached a few screenshots hoping they will help. The existing site is the purple/pink colored one that says Human Connection on the landing page titled "Houston White". The new site says "Our differences make us dope" and is titled "Houston White (Fall 2024 Refresh).

Sincerely,
Sam / Soulseven

A client can have two different accounts. If one account shows both sites in the same account  panel you can easily move the domain, you move it not transfer it. If each site is in a panel by itself, then you need  to treat your client as two people and follow the guide.

Sorry I forgot to post it in my previous reply.

@derricksrandomviews Am i having difficulty because the new/duplicated site was created in my personal account after i was given permissions to access my clients site?

I've looked through the article you sent numerous times previously, but I'm not clear on which path to follow.

You can personally move the domain if you own the domain and have full admin privileges for both website accounts. If not you will need to be invited to have admin privileges for the one you don't have. The guide explains exactly how to do that. Follow the eligibility steps.

Eligibility

Before you move your domain, ensure that your domain meets these requirements:

@derricksrandomviews Hi Again - I do have full admin permissions, and I've gone through all the steps in the article you sent (As far as i know).

When i try to Move the domain to the new site, the new site doesn't show up in my dashboard as an option. Strange because i created the site. I transferred ownership to my client but i still have full permissions.

What am i missing?

Is it possible your client removed your permissions? That could explain why you can no longer see it in your account dashboard. Is the site in a different account from the domain? That would keep you from seeing it if you don't have permission for both accounts. The logins could be different for the accounts.

I deleted the custom DNS settings and now it's looking like the site is down. 😞

I then re-entered the custom DNS settings and it is still down. Gah!

I'm getting an insecure warning in the chrome browser bar.

You have a conflicting A record, (the .23 address) that points to a Squarespace parking page. The domain can't go to two places at once, so it points nowhere. Disconnect the domain, click delete, and then load Squarespace defaults again.

You can see the wrong address here:
