How to contact subscibers who didn't accept email marketing?

Just to be sure…

In the past, I have offered a free course using member areas.
I've updated this course with the new course collection and wanted to notify all members.

I've tried to send an email campaign to all members, but the message was only sent to members who had accepted the "email marketing" option. Is there no way to contact ALL my students? This is not marketing, but simply informations about their course and access.

Is there a way around to contact subscibers who did not accept email marketing?

Yes, that's my understanding.

Whereas Customer Notification emails are considered "legitimate interest", Squarespace have viewed Email Campaigns purely as a "branded marketing" tool up to now. They therefore require subscribers to accept email marketing.

That said, Email Campaigns is a great way to build more expressive emails and so I expect this will change in the future.
