Navigation // Anchor links on homepage, but then 'what?' on secondary pages

Hi everyone, 

My head isn't working properly today, so thought I'd reach out... 

So, I have a challenge...

There are two sites I'm working on right now. Both are essentially single page, continuous scroll landing pages.

On this basis, my head was going down the 'turn header nav links into #anchor links so that it auto-scrolls down the page to the relevant section' route.

BUT (and here's the rub) both sites now also want additional pages adding to the site - People and Projects pages in one case, and a Blog page(s) in the other case.

Now, unless I'm being thick, anchor links won't work on the main nav if you're not on that page when you click, is that right? In other words, you can't be on the blog overview page and then click 'about' on the main header nav and it will anchor back to homepage and down the page to the relevant 'about' section... ??

Any help or ideas? Much appreciated if anyone has. I'm off to get another coffee to see if brain kicks into gear, too.
