Help using the lightbox anything plugin with a code block

So I have an image on my site that I want to bring up different lightboxes when you click on a certain spot in the image. I figured out how to create an image map to make these different link areas and have inserted it into my site with a code block. What I'm trying to figure out is how to use the Lightbox Anything plugin with this and have the lightboxes link to the different links within the code block. 

I've used the plugin before with no issue linking a button or text to a lightbox page but it seems like because I can't turn off the 'open in a new window' setting since I'm using links within a code block, it won't open the lightbox. I've tried the image map with external links and it works fine, there's obviously a breakdown between the code block and the lightbox plugin. I've tried targeting _self but that doesn't work. I can see when I hover over the section that there is a link there, it's just not actually opening the lightbox. 

Can this be done? Is there an alternative?

Yes, I have. Haven't heard back from them yet.
