Markdown no longer working with Simple List item descriptions

I've created multiple pages with these Simple List layouts and I have always used markdown to style the description text, but it seems to no longer be working. 

In the attached example, the card on the left used "####" to set the 2nd block of text as H4 in the description ("2024 RCP..."). But when trying to add "####" to the description on the right ("Wildlands & Woodlands..."), it just appears as regular text and doesn't apply the styling.

Agreed. This stopped working about a week ago but we don't know if this is a bug or an intentional change. I encourage you to raise a ticket through Squarespace Customer Care.

Thanks, I've gone ahead and submitted a ticket to customer care as well.

In the meantime, any thoughts on a workaround to get consistent formatting with portions of text set as H4 in the Simple List descriptions using css?

I've just reached out to support after having the same issue and this was their response:

While you're welcome to use markdown language within your site, I want to note that this is an advanced modification that our team cannot advise on or assist in troubleshooting. While this isn't something we can offer further assistance on, you may want to consider reaching out to the Squarespace forum instead:

As a note, markdown can be used in the markdown block directly. However, the success of using markdown language in other blocks across the site cannot be guaranteed. I'll share a bit more on using markdown here:
