Take blog image and place it into the navigation and title

Hi there,

Currently coding my website and I love how you can dynamically change the background of the navigation section depending on the image at the top. That's how I have my homepage and events page (as shown in the attached image).

I'd love to continue this design language across the rest of the website, but blog posts don't allow this. Is there a way of putting the blog post image into the navigation and title of the blog post like it is on the events page?
