Cannot delete image thumb from product detail page

I permanently deleted a product image from my asset library before I removed it from my product detail. Now I'm left with a blank thumbnail on my product detail page, which I can't remove. Has anyone got any ideas how to get rid of this, it's driving me insane!

I've resolved this now. I was able to delete the blank thumbnails using the iPad App, in case anyone has the same problem.
