Ansis
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with an iframe on my Squarespace site, and I'm hoping someone here can help. Issue: I've embedded a webpage using an iframe, and while the initial content loads correctly, any links within the iframe don't work, they come up with a sad face and says ‘refused to connect’. This happens across multiple browsers, and I’ve ensured that there aren’t any restrictive attributes in the iframe code itself. It has only become an issue over the last week, beforehand the iframe and links were all working for over a year now. What I’ve Tried: Modified Iframe Code: I’ve tried various configurations, including adding/removing sandbox and other attributes, but the problem persists. Tested in Multiple Browsers: The issue is consistent across different browsers and even in incognito mode. Avoiding External Linking: I’m aware that linking directly to the site is a workaround, but we want users to stay on our site with a fully functional iframe, so direct linking isn't an option. Contacting the website hosts: I've contacted Squarespace support and also the host of the site I'm embedding, however neither has given a way to resolve the issue, but they have noted why the issue might be coming up now. What I'm After: Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? Any tips or workarounds that allow the links within the iframe to work correctly while keeping users on our site would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help! creedon
If your issue is indeed browser security related I'm dubious there is much chance that you can make your iframe work. These kinds of issues are not something that can just be bypassed. Please post the URL for a page on your site where we can see your issue. For us to see the URL you need to include the link in the content of your post. The URL field the forum software provides is not shown to us. A link to the backend of the your site won’t work for us, i.e. a URL that contains /config/. Please set up a site-wide password, if your site is not public and you've not already done so. Post the password here. Adding a site-wide password does not allow anyone to alter your site. It only allows those with the password to see your site. Please read the site-wide password and how to share a link documentation to understand how they work. You may find How to post a forum question post useful. We can then take a look at your issue. The issue in this case is the site actwaterpolo.com is refusing to allow their links to be opened in an iframe. Find my contributions useful?
