Transitioned from 7.0 to 7.1 over a year ago, but now realize some content links are dead. Is there an automation possible or is manually my best option?

So we had over 1,000 blog posts published, each of which contained an mp3 file of our daily podcast. Those are all intact and it was one of the main focuses of our migration. Our contractor affirmed they had some sort of automated process for doing this.

We now realize some corners of the site were missed, and we missed them too in our double check afterward. It's about 55 dead links, made up of various uploaded docs or mp3s.

One time in the past when we found a couple of these, I just reactivated our 7.0 site to grab the files, because they still existed there when you click those links. Then I'd go to the dead link on our 7.1 site and reupload them.

55 really isn't the end of the world and I can do it manually, I was just curious if anyone knows of a better system for this. I assume any automated system costs or requires plenty of set up on its own, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Thanks!

We can leverage the undocument api but 55 files are small number that worth the effort, drap and drop is possible but it process one file at a time

Thanks so much - drag and drop is interesting, didn't know that feature existed. Drag and drop from one site of mine to the next? Where do I find this feature? Thank you in advance!

You gotta download the file from the other site first

and open the Link Manager on Pages -> Add new navigation item (Plus icon) -> Link

Switch to File in the dropdown and start uploading there

Interesting. Maybe I'll try that. I need to look at that myself to see how it works, sounds like it could still be faster than downloading them all from the old site, then navigating to each individual page on the new site and uploading the file. So thank you!

Out of curiosity, if we ever find our need is greater than we realized, what's the undocument API do and where do I find it? I appreciate your help and time.

You can open the Network tabs of browser (chrome) then start the upload, it will show which api has been called
