Contact Form Attachments not viewable

The attachments (image files or what have you) that get attached as an upload to contact forms only seem to be accessible in the contacts section of the back end of the site, which seems like extra work to view your email. When I go there to click those attachments and view them or download them, all I get is an error page. I can not view the attachment. I've run several tests.

Is anyone else having this issue? 

Also, for Squarespace, is there a plan to simply attach that to the email that comes through from the site like every other contact form out there?
