Emails not being received

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to resolve the issue ever since my domain was transferred to squarespace.

My email id (customised google workspace domain) can send email but not receive it. This issue has been persistent from the 8th of august. No live chat is available from squarespace to attend to the problem. This issue has been ridiculous and I'm helpless for my organization now, as everyone cannot receive email. Please help to address the issue.

PS- Verified the same from hosting partners also, MX records have been updated also.

I don't know if this is how you are testing (some do) but you cannot send mail from an address to the same address. Usually, this is an MX record issue, but not always. A move may cause a glitch you can't see. The fix is to reenter the MX records.

This guide may provide you with an answer before you resort to reentering records.

Sir, the link shared does not work.

The details as mentioned on the link are invalid for squarespace.

I have repeatedly entered the MX records, which unfortunately do not show any progress in the solution

@flashgordon If you'd like forum users to look at this, please provide the domain name, a screenshot of your domain DNS panel and details of any error you receive when you send an email to one of the affected email addresses.

Similar experience here since end of June. My email forwarding was working in Google Domains. I believe through Mailgun. Forwarded to my desktop Thunderbird client. But after transfer to Squarespace all hell let loose. Lost a forwarding link and had to approach various vendors to switch that address (for login) to a gmail account.  I learned a hard lesson not to use a forwarding address linked to a domain going through transfer. My blunder but I needed to learn that lesson. Always have a backup route. n+1 redundancy or don't put all eggs in one basket. There are multiple links in chain. Some messages from end of June have been lost.

I opened an account with deSEC.io and use that as my name server now. I can edit DNS records there. Such as MX for mailforwarding. Unbinding from Squarespace.

I am of an age where I remember Flash Gordon.

Hi there,

I am also having this issue. A website that I set up on behalf of a client has screwed up their email. I transferred their domain to squarespace from a third-party host. Last time I did this with the same host the emails continued to be hosted by the third-party and just the domain was transferred to squarespace. I did have to adjust the MX records manually but that was no problem.

This time the MX records carried over but are apparently now hosted by squarespace and not the third-party anymore. My client has not had access to their emails for weeks possibly even months at this point. I don't know what I have done for this to have become screwed  up. Is there anyway to troubleshoot this?
