mdwheeler
I am a new account user and thought I had indexed the site correctly. However, I am noticing that Squarespace url information, and not the external URL itself are starting to appear in searches. How can I rectify this please? Secondly, can anyone tell me why I can't login to Squarespace Customer Support to send them a message? I can't find a way to email customer support from within my account. I am finding this extremely frustrating. Squarespace is feeling very remote and hard to work with - I just want to ask a question and get some help from a human! Thanks for any help you can give on both problems. Link to comment
Ziggy
Support link: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new#choose-topic If Google has indexed your Squarespace domain, that may well be because you had that as the primary domain before connecting your custom domain. This should resolve over time, but requesting indexing of your custom domain on Google Search Console should help. As a note, when I search for your website title, I get only the correct domain in my results. Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers! mdwheeler
Many thanks for your help. I didn't realise this can change over time. I'll see what I can do within the Google Console. Link to comment
Collaborada
Hi @mdwheeler You can change the built-in domain if desired, more info here: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/squarespace-built-in-domain Note that currently, built-in domains are being more aggressively indexed than in the past. SQSP should noindex these URLs when a custom domain is used - Circle members can upvote this feature request: https://forum.squarespace.com/ideas/noindex-on-built-in-domains-r758/ Have SEO questions?
