SQUARESPACE WON'T TRANSFER MY DOMAIN

Recommended Posts

I'm still looking for Squarespace's 24/7 Award winning customer service... if anyone has seen it / heard from it, let me know!

I share my frustration with many others - my domain did not auto renew due to a change in my card. My website and my work emails were taken down over 2 weeks ago. I immediately tried to renew my website, and squarespace's system was too square to let me do that. For 2 weeks now I have been waiting for my domain to be transfered... still nothing and squarespace wont allow the transfer. I have lost clients, i have lost money and pretty much lost sleep over this. I do not understand how a company can take away their customer support - obviously a selfish one who doe not believe in giving their customer any support.

I have been using Squarespace for almost 15 years and sadly this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and i'll be looking to go elsewhere thats is not so square!

Unfortunately, you may have this to deal with.

  • Domain name expiration  Your new domain provider may not be able to migrate an expired domain to their platform. If your domain name is expired, you can reactivate it in your Squarespace account and then initiate the transfer process.

this does not help - Squarespace's billing system is broken. We also changed our card and the system refuses to take the payment to renew.
You are holding customers hostage and this is illegal.

@Squarespacevictim they are indeed holding their customers hostage and playing with people's livelihood and this is something i cannot stand behind. I have gone ahead an cancelled all the auto renewal on squarespace and will be migrating everything to a different platform. I think Squarespace needs to take a long hard look at where their money is being spent.. funnelling money to create ads with Martin Scorsese might not be money well spent and perhaps getting more people and REAL people and having an actual customer care centre wouldn't hurt!
