Squarespacevictim
" Sadly, on squerspace there is not such a thing as 'customer service' and whenever I try to have a Live Chat then I get a message that they are receiving a large volume of chat requests and that I suppose to send them email." extremely accurate - and it's truly unfortunate, because we are paying customers. mmcgill 1 Link to comment
Squarespacevictim
Adding to this. Squarespace took down our website and email. Our business is losing customers because of Squarespace. We tried rescuing our business by moving our domain to another provider, and Squarespace is now blocking the transfer. mmcgill 1 Link to comment

Squarespacevictim
This is very important for everybody. As of August 2024, Squarespace stopped providing customer service. Think hard before moving your domain or website to Squarespace. mmcgill 1 Link to comment
derricksrandomviews
Unfortunately, these kind of posts don't help anyone. What can help is you tell us what problem you are experiencing and give us some info to work with you. What is your domain? Where is it hosted? Where is your website hosted? We have solved domain issues for many users here, not all, but a lot. Let us see if we can solve yours. mmcgill and Ziggy 2 Link to comment

It had my husbands email for some reason, and couldnt verify. Ive edited it to mine, but now it's erroring when trying to resend the verification through the domains section. I just waited a few minutes and it reset itself. So the OP might want to go to Domains and check and see if they are suspended? We also changed our card and the system refuses to take the payment to renew. Squarespace complained they can't reach us on our email - an email THEY suspended - and returns and error when I try to update the email address. Squarespace is holding customers hostage and this is illegal. mmcgill 1 Link to comment

The domain is hosted by squarespace itself. It was moved over from google domains. The auto-renew did not trigger. I updated the card information but the billing system is not taking the payment. I got a notification - "we can't reach you your email" (on the domain Squarespace sabotaged); I tried to change the email but I get an error. I cannot imagine how any of this would be legal. mmcgill 1 Link to comment
derricksrandomviews
Where is your site hosted? I take it is not a Squarespace site. We had a couple of other users have the same issue. They started over. They disconnected everything and then were able to change the email and renew the domain. First is to see if you can change your email in your account settings profile, if not then use the recover account by text message. That is the first thing to do and then work on recovering the domain. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044507791-Recovering-your-account-by-text-message?platform=v6&websiteId=552089d6e4b039659f7ab488 Link to comment
Squarespacevictim
It is a Squarespace-managed domain. See below. mmcgill 1 Link to comment

It is helpful for the multitude of us that are going through the same thing. The basics are thus… Google and Squarespace did a deal and those of us who had domains with Google are having functionality issues (Google had my domain and email my site was built using Squarespace). And for some reason no one in the company is available to help— Like paid folks that are trained to offer support, which used to be standard, are no where to be found. I’m grateful regular folks are trying to help, but that misses the point. I guess paying people to do this work is not a priority. It’s like Squarespace is proud that they don’t have a phone number. Makes no sense to me. Not sure of what esthetic that accomplishes when many customers are having issues. To me, it looks like a company that is preparing to close for good. Kind of like when you pay someone to do a job and they don’t show up and then they don’t answer the phone. They’ve taken my money and ran. My email using my domain no longer works. Hasn’t worked since 8/3/24. Missed business and opportunities. I got messages when this all started saying I needed to migrate things over to Squarespace, I followed the instructions given. And now it doesn’t work. I can email from that domain email but cannot receive emails. I emailed squarespace, because no one could chat or speak by phone, and still haven’t heard a word. Social Media ad buys don’t bring customers in if they’re covered in comments just like mine asking for help and not getting it! Bad look. At the very least, whomever is in charge of customer support should be boxing their stuff up in preparation for that long walk to the unemployment line. scrapmetal134 1 Link to comment
