PDF download link not working outside of SS

I'm having trouble trying to share a link to a downloadable PDF.

Here's what I did:

Created an unlinked download page. Added text and linked it to a PDF file. (uploaded it, checkmarked it).

Created another page with an embedded ConvertKit form for the download. The convertkit form uses the link created in the previous step to redirect to the PDF on the site. 

However, whether I try to access the download from the CK form or copy/paste the pdf link directly into my browser, I'm not seeing the PDF, just a blank page. But if I click on the linked text inside of SS, it sends me to the PDF just fine. 

The site is not yet published as I'm still working on it and is password protected, could that have something to do with it?

Update* -  I did some testing of my theory that this issue may be due to it being an unpublished site and also password protected and lo and behold that IS what is preventing the PDF from being displayed.  I apologize for not testing that before I posted but maybe this will help someone else having the same issue. 

Thanks Patriceacer.. and don't apologize, it sucks that it is an issue at all, especially with no indication that this will be the case from Squarespace. A complete timewaster.
