Add optional Donation to product purchase checkout

Hey friends!

I know the conversation about adding tips to checkout comes up often. I have a client that wants to add an optional additional donation to checkout.

Here is an example of a site that accomplishes this: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/alpineartisansinc/1128412 (Click register and you'll see the donation option appear)

I believe it's important that the user can write in how much they want to donate but i'm open to any and all options. I know you can add a product called "Tips" - and i'm curious to see examples of this that include varying tip amounts.

1. Has anyone figured this out? Or have you used a 3rd party ticket vendor that offers this?
2. Feel free to also share examples of sites that have accomplished this (for tips or donations) with various amount options!

Did you ever get any response to this? I am thinking about this as well. I see you can have product add-ons, so I could create a fixed product that is a donation, but it's not the same. 

Hey @KifS - my client ended up bypassing Squarespace and using https://www.tickettailor.com. It worked really well. Squarespace just couldn't do what they needed which was add the donation as they were checking out... in one fell swoop. 

I know there is a brand new theater ticketing app that can accomplish this but it is really for theaters/theater classes only - not any other industry.  Its called https://www.fourthwalltickets.com/ if you're interested.

Yeah. I'd hate to take people out of our site to purchase things when it should all work internally, but I do see other programs have their store hosted on a different platform. Appreciate the suggestion.
