Why can I not extend my domain registration?

Why is this not possible? What kind of scam is this? I am from Google and was transferred here, and this is a ridiculous situation where we are 100% limited and locked out of what we can do with our domains. Also, in Google Domains, I had more options for what I could do with my own domain, such as adding extra years to it. Why must we be limited in managing our own domain? Why do I have to waste my time on a stupid email just to request or ask to extend my domain years instead of being able to pay for multiple years at once?

Not going to lie, but this place feels like you are in a prison where you are always and 100% limited to all your actions for your own domain.
