I have an ecommerce store in the Lange template using 7.0. What's the best way to upgrade from the 7.0 Lange template to 7.1?

The free Squarespace Update tool doesn't yet have a direct route from the York template family (which Lange is a part of) to version 7.1, so you'll first need to migrate to a Brine 7.0 template and then upgrade to 7.1.

You'll lose some of the York specific features when you swap templates (grid index, unique project pages, and so on), so you may want to make a duplicate of your site and practice on this first - so you can see the scale of changes. That said, don't use a duplicate for the actual upgrade, otherwise you'll be missing the site data.

If you haven't already read it, please see Moving from Squarespace version 7.0 to version 7.1 for details about the process.
