Migrating a large site to a new design

Recommended Posts

I am trying to help a client with a large site (400+ pages) in redesign effort. A lot of the pages are unlinked and need to kept for archival purposes, but the large page count prohibits me from duplicating the site as we are well over the 100 page limit. I can't make design edits to the live site without causing a disruption in the site. Starting from scratch is an option, but will require us to rebuild ALOT of pages, and still doesn't help with the archive necessity. Anybody have any suggestions on how best to proceed?

That's a tricky task, with no easy answer. One option might be to look into SquareWebsites Pro Extension (affiliate link but genuinely trying to be useful!). It allows you to migrate content between Squarespace websites along with other useful things!
