Move a domain from one squarespace to another

Hi Circle. I have completed the redesign for a client, duplicated their website in their account. I have full Administrator access of the old site but not sure how to move the domain across to the new site. The only option on the old site is  to disconnect the domain from the old site. Do I need the client to transfer site ownership to complete?

The domain name is not with Squarespace.
