Cannot get GD domain to connect to my SquareSpace page

Hi, I carefully followed the instructions given on this help site to try to connect my GD domain to my SQ page: Connecting a GoDaddy domain to your Squarespace site – Squarespace Help Center

Right after I completed the steps, I received an email from SQ page which said, "We have successfully connected your domain to your Squarespace website," adding, "It may take up to 24 hours to finish the connection process."

It has now been about 42 hours and I just continue to get a message from Microsoft Edge on my screen any time I type the domain in my browser: " Hmmm… can't reach this page."

Some information that might help figure out where the error lies:

  • My domain meets the requirements for connecting third-party domains.
  • I chose to NOT "remove any active DNS records on GoDaddy's end" before I started (maybe I should have?), as I'm not sure what those are.
  • My domain is NOT a subdomain.
  • I started "the connection process with GoDaddy’s default nameservers intact," as instructed in the article mentioned above.
  • I used the Nameserver Connect option to try to connect my domain.

Finally:

I prefer to stay registered with GD and not transfer my domain to SQ page, if possible.

It's important to me that my url is masked: I need my branded domain to show in the browser and not my SQ page link. I'm hoping this is possible without doing an actual transfer of the domain to SQ page.

How can I get this all to work?

Any help you guys can offer is much appreciated.

Thanks ever so much:)

There's an issue with the Squarespace nameservers that are supposed to be hosting your domain - they didn't respond to DNS requests which means there's a technical issue. I encourage you to reach out to Squarespace directly by raising a ticket through Squarespace Customer Support.
