Alternate Solutions for Uploading Files to Squarespace Root Directory

Recommended Posts

Want to upload files to Squarespace like they're in a root folder? Even though Squarespace doesn't have traditional root directories, you can simulate this using redirects. Here's how:

  1. Contact your service for the file to upload.
  2. Upload the file to Squarespace's Link Manager.
  3. Access it at /s/file.txt; this path redirects to Squarespace's CDN.
  4. Trace the file to its actual CDN path.
  5. Set up a 301 redirect from /file.txt to the CDN path.
  6. Verify with services like Google ads.txt, IndexNow.org, and Bing Webmaster Tools.
