jimfelder Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I'm trying to point a new domain to my external website. I'm getting this error: Invalid DNS records configuration. I am entering the suggested website config: Host - www Type - CNAME Data - customer.hd.pics. (I also tried customer.hd.pics without the period at the end) Thanks for any suggestions. 5391 1
Sjaw Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I was having the same issue. I got around it by deleting Squarespace defaults in the DNS Settings page. jimfelder 1
jimfelder Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 Well, OK. I thought about doing that, but I didn’t wanna mess anything up. I’ll give that a try. I appreciate you responding.
squidzink Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Unfortunately, the messed up part is simply having a domain that is registered via Squarespace or that was sucked into this hellish pit of despair via the purchase of Google Domains. Squarespace is fully unprepared to manage this new business, cannot offer timely support and now has some of the sketchiest domain management and transfer OUT practices I have encountered in 26+ years in the web design and hosting business. jimfelder Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 @Sjaw Removing the SS defaults allowed me to save the settings, but the site is still not working. I'm working with the other platform to resolve it now.
Philly Posted July 13 Posted July 13 What was your other provider, did you eventually find a solution? I am currently experiencing the same issue when trying to connect my design from CANVA.
PR123321 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Just registered to say that, like Sjaw, I could add a new CNAME record only after deleting the preset one (I'm connecting Shopify to a Squarespace domain). We'll see what happens once it propagates.
