aholm Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I’ve run my website through Ahrefs and have two Google Search Console accounts connected: The first one is my domain name without "www". The second one is my domain name with "www". I recently switched to Squarespace and chose to add "www" to the domain in the settings. My naked domain (without "www") has many more backlinks than the one with "www". Should I remove the "www" option in Squarespace? Can it hurt my site and rankings in any way?"
Solution JayneC_SQSP Posted September 9 Solution Posted September 9 Hi @aholm, thank you for posting here. Each search engine is different, and each one (like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.) uses different factors to rank sites that are kept secret and change frequently. We build all known SEO best practices into every Squarespace site, but due to the complex algorithms that power each search engine’s technology (and everyone’s marketing needs are unique), we’re unable to provide specific SEO advice to our customers. That being said, we do have some resources in this guide that go over those built-in SEO tools and some tips for using them: What Squarespace does for SEO We also offer a free, one-hour webinar where we cover SEO best practices and how to use our built-in tools to increase your site's visibility online. Learn more and register here: SEO with your Squarespace site webinar I hope this helps!
