How to handle a fraudulent purchase email

I received an email this morning from someone who claimed to place and order from my squarespace site and didn’t receive confirmation and that their credit card was charged. I looked at my pending orders and there are none.  suspect it is a fake. How do I handle emails like this and how do I protect myself?

I'm writing because I recently placed an order on your online platform but never received a confirmation email.

I viewed the confirmation page after placing the order, and the payment has been deducted from my credit card, but there's nothing in my inbox. I'm a bit concerned since I haven't received any further information.

Could you please confirm if my order went through and forward the confirmation email?
