Code to prevent dark mode from inverting the gradient I use as background on my heading sections

How it should look: image.png?ex=665f6241&is=665e10c1&hm=dd8d4479e7492043f35ae831d11e8068c8c346fde3debcd813c967d3dd61c1ac&=

How it looks with darkmode:

This seems to apply with edge and firefox dark mode primarily. The CSS I have for the sections with this background is:

background-color: transparent!important;
background-image: url(https://static1.squarespace.com/static/655d0b93dedb9d303424a4f7/t/661ed1d03ca81b454041e5f1/1713295824179/sm-white-stripe.png);
background-size: horizontal vertical;
background-size: 120px;
}

Anything I can do to either just hide the gradient png if dark mode is enabled or some other fix? I like how it looks on light mode so I would prefer not to remove it altogether. TIA.
