generating a unique identifier as a hidden field on a Squarespace form

Hi -- I'm trying to generate a unique identifier as a hidden field in a Squarespace form, so that when the form data are saved to Google Sheets, they are associated with that identifier. (It's part of a larger project to take the form data, run some calculations on it, and give the user feedback using code in the response page.)

Has anybody done this (generate the unique identifier) successfully?
