Better address data validation for Intake Form Questions

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi!

We're dealing with incomplete and invalid addresses which are being populated into our appointment bookings and calendars.

This is error prone since the "Address" question from the "Intake Form Questions" settings requires our customers to manually type or copy/paste an address when scheduling an appointment with us. We're using the Acuity Scheduling integration with our website, and editing those forms through the acuityscheduling.com website.

Here's how the "Address" question looks on our forms today:

And what I see when trying to edit the "Address" question in our "Intake Form Questions" settings:AddressQuestion_IntakeFormQuestionsSettings.png.0c599a5a9fdd21db5074cfa6cecab45c.png

Ideally, I would update the "Address" question to enable auto complete and suggestion options based on the customer's current input. Similar to Google Maps:

I have 2 questions with this context:

  • Are there plans to bring back address auto-complete for Acuity Scheduling Intake Forms?
I understand that the third party API used to support this has since discontinued around Oct 2022 from this forum, Address Field not Auto Completing: The third party product was recently discontinued... (SquareSpace Forum)
  • Other suggestions for bettering address data validation before confirming an appointment?
Since there is no data validation for the "Address" question input and is treated a free form single line text field, we're considering on adding another form to our appointment scheduler to list all postal codes which our business services with some more helpful messaging.

This issue has causing a lot of friction in our appointment and order fulfillment pipeline. Any and all help is welcome.
