Subscription Wine Sales Squarespace/Stripe

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to add a single product to a wine club page. The product is a monthly subscription of 4 bottles of wine.

Because the product is a subscription Squarespace is directing me to use Stripe for payment processing.
"Stripe is required to capture payment for Subscriptions."

Stripe however has alcohol listed as a prohibited business.
"Age restricted goods or services such as alcoholic beverages"

How are people accepting reoccurring subscription payments for wine clubs using Squarespace?

Have you contacted Stripe to ask them? It can depend on where your business is based and your business circumstances but, where I am, Stripe considers businesses selling alcoholic beverages to be "Restricted Businesses" rather than prohibited businesses, which means you can seek written permission from Stripe.

After you run through setting up a Stripe account they will contact you in regards to the "restricted business" and request the following if you are looking to sell alcohol online.

Stripe requires the businesses Alcohol License, Shipping Agreement from your shipper, and an age gate on the website. I'm currently following up with them on any exact requirements in regards to the age gate.
