OstromCreative Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I've been experiencing issues with GIF files on my Squarespace site. For example, the Portfolio page ("What we do"), has a GIF for the featured image on the Fabcon project. On my browser, it is working fine, When other members of our team go to the page it completely disappears. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?
creedon Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Please post the URL for a page on your site where we can see your issue. For us to see the URL you need to include the link in the content of your post. The URL field the forum software provides is not shown to us. A link to the backend of the your site won’t work for us, i.e. a URL that contains /config/. Please set up a site-wide password, if your site is not public and you've not already done so. Post the password here. Adding a site-wide password does not allow anyone to alter your site. It only allows those with the password to see your site. Please read the site-wide password and how to share a link documentation to understand how they work. You may find How to post a forum question post useful. We can then take a look at your issue. Find my contributions useful? creedon Posted May 24 Posted May 24 The GIF loaded OK for me. Perhaps others will chime in if they don't see the sardine eye's looking. Two possibilities come to mind. For those folks with issues the image is not actually being loaded. The image is being loaded but not rendered properly. To diagnose the issue we would need to be able to see the issue. Or not see as the case may be. The other way to go would be to gather some data about the environments of the folks who are having the issue. What OS are they using? What browser? What versions of those are they using? Also, have them restart their computers, hubs and routers. Getting a clean start is easy and if it works, great. If not then you can potentially eliminate those as variables. Find my contributions useful? Please like, upvote, mark my answer as the best ( solution ), and see my profile. Thanks for your support! OstromCreative Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Yes, they are using privacy blockers. Do you know why they would block that image and not others? I am wondering if there is anything we can change to work around the blockers.
creedon Posted May 30 Posted May 30 (edited) Quote why they would block that image and not others? Spammers have used GIFs a lot to present annoying flashing images for their spam. Quote I am wondering if there is anything we can change to work around the blockers. It's unlikely. If the blocker is simply looking at the file for a signature that identifies the file as a GIF there is no way around that. Edited May 30 by creedon Find my contributions useful?
