Making the dropdown menu on a hamburger nav drop downward instead of opening to the right (with the clove template)

I'm using a hamburger nav on both my desktop and mobile version of my site. Right now where I have a dropdown item, and you click on it, it opens the pages to the right sort of on a "new page". I want the menu to stay the same, and for the items to animate and open downward below the nav item when clicked if that makes sense. Please help. I started with the Clove Template I believe.
