ConvertKit integration with SquareSpace Commerce and tagging based on product category

Hello, for those of you who have integrated your ConvertKit account with Squarespace commerce site. Have you found a way to tag subscribers with product purchasers based on product category and not the actual product?

I'm a visual artist and painter that creates original works of art and therefore they are unique one offs. The tagging mechanism in ConvertKit appears to be based off of product. I'd like to know if there is a way to base if off category instead?
