ConnorThornberg
Hello, I work for a small non-profit that operates on a membership basis. We just purchased a SquareSpace plan and are in the process of moving our website over to SquareSpace from Wix. We are looking to be able to have a small number of pages that paying members can access. When we first purchased our plan, we were under the impression that the transaction fee for purchases would be 3%, as the separate transaction fee for digital products was not listed on the page detailing the main website plans. All that it said is that we would be able to create a Member Site and take subscription based payments. We did not learn of the 9% transaction fee for digital products until we had already built our member site, and cannot afford the add-on plans that will reduce this percentage. Is there any other way that we could have a small number of pages locked behind a payment? We do not have any courses and we are not looking to host any video content behind a paywall. We just want to be able to have a couple of pages that only paying members can access. 9% is simply too much of a transaction fee for this and if there is no other option we are going to have to go to a different service. Thank you! Edited May 19 by ConnorThornberg Link to comment
well_hello_jamie
Hi Connor - I'm no expert on this, and hopefully someone from SS official gets back to you (?) but a workaround for you, in the meantime, may be to simply password protect certain pages and offer the password to members who've paid through a 3rd party payment plan like Stripe or PayPal... Password protecting pages isn't super secure, because there's a single code for everyone with access, so you'll have to decide if that's workable for your org. Wishing you the best of luck! - Jamie Edited May 22 by well_hello_jamie Link to comment
