Recurring payment with Inventory

Recommended Posts

I am able to set up recurring payments.  However, when I do, the quantity of units goes away.  I have storage units for rent and a certain number of them at the facility.  Without the quantity, people could then, in theory, rent a unit that is not available.  Do I need to create a product for each unit that is rentable?  Duplicate a product 100x seems like the long way.  Not opposed to it, but need to be able to regulate the number of units available to rent.  Thanks!

You cannot manage the inventory of subscription products on Squarespace. Subscription products are automatically set to unlimited, on the assumption that there will be a predictable supply to meet the recurring demand of the subscribers.

Of course, not all subscription products fall into this category, as your example illustrates. There may be a way around this with some code but I'd need to see the site and understand more of the context before suggesting a solution. For example, in some situations it may be possible to show a non-subscription service product (where the inventory is managed) and then offer the user a link to the subscription product if non-subscription inventory is available. It's just a thought at this stage.
