Bought a Domain but cannot verify my Email

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Just a background, I had a domain for 1 year with an email from Google Domains/Workspace, however I had billing problems and my domain was suspended.

I tried fixing this yesterday, but i saw that the reactivation of my suspended domain costs WAY MORE MONEY, so I just bought a new one on Squarespace domains, however this is the stupid part..

I logged in Squarespace Domains via google auth using my email account that is associated with the suspended domain, thus there is no mx-record and that email cannot receive any emails, I didn't notice this at first, but i already bought the domain yesterday.

I only noticed the problem when squarespace sent the verification email, since i cannot receive emails from that suspended domain, i cannot activate/verify my squarespace domain/account.

I tried changing the email, but squarespace throws an error (maybe for security reasons? since my account is not verified), now i don't want to reactivate my suspended domain (it costs 4000+ PHP, that's a lot of money in the Philippines), and if i activated that domain, i would have two domains, I only need one.

It seems like I cannot even send a support ticket or email (since the support needs email confirmation) , any help or advice is appreciated.  Screenshotfrom2024-05-0809-40-41.thumb.png.4512c3d6311d647d022ca6223d03761d.pngScreenshotfrom2024-05-0809-42-27.thumb.png.450ae9b7118bfbd1b562d9391454d16c.png

Hi Edwardlayao, this same thing happened to my domain that I purchased from Google and discovered that it was purchased and migrated to Squarespace, and thus have the same issue of not being able to verify my suspended domain. My gmail linked to this domain isn’t also receiving emails with is an extra layer of a problem to this issue. I’ve followed some steps on updating the MX records in the DNS, but don’t thing this could be the issue but we shall see if this might resolve the issue to fully receive in-coming emails and eventually “verify” the domain. Have you resolved this issue, if you did, please share your steps. Thanks
